Position PurposeThe Construction Road Technician performs service and repairs on construction and agriculture equipment at customer sites to ensure equipment runs according to manufacturer's specifications. Ensures all Briggs Earth & Ag standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.
Principal Responsibilities and DutiesBasic Knowledge &
Competencies:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Thorough knowledge of heavy equipment & operations that apply to the branch
- Excellent mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge and problem solving skills
- Basic computer aptitude
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Previous Experience/
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred
- 3+ years' experience in heavy line equipment repair or related industry preferred
- Heavy line equipment and warranty repair knowledge preferred (Cummings, Perkins, Yanmar, and Kohler engines)
- Ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc.
- Valid driver's license required
- Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- 100% travel to customer sites
- Must furnish own tools for performing needed repairs to equipment
