AboutThe Role
We are seeking an ambitious Groundskeeper to join our maintenance team at the Westshore Marina Flats community in Tampa (near the Gandy Bridge). Whether you’re just starting to learn the maintenance trades, or already have a few certifications but are looking for more hands-on experience, you’ll get the training and support from your team to excel in your career and reach your full potential!

TypeFull Time (40hrs/wk). On-call shifts and flexibility is required.
ScheduleTypical schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Pay$16 - $20 per hour
What You'll Be Doing Property Curb Appeal- Walking property daily, recording and correcting deficiencies
- Pressure washing grounds and buildings
- Replace light bulbs (interior and exterior) as needed
- Assist in picking up litter from grounds, common areas, and removing trash/debris from vacant units
- Maintain a small amount of grounds (as needed between lawn/landscape service by 3rd party vendor)
- Keep inventory & ensure that all keys are kept properly (in accordance with Miya's Law & the company's high standards for resident and staff safety)
- Replace filters and clean air conditioning vents in apartment units on an as-needed basis
- Perform HVAC troubleshooting, plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, minor drywall repairs and other interior repairs daily
- Assist technicians with apartment make-readies (includes painting, repairs, cleaning, wall/sheetrock repair, lock changes, etc.)
- Perform general, preventative and routine maintenance in the community
- Ensure the completion of assigned service requests
- Assist in the distribution of flyers and other materials
- Handle 'on call' duties whenever needed; will carry a cell phone on a regular basis
- Must be dependable. We all rely on each other, and arriving to work on-time for your scheduled shifts helps us all to succeed and is crucial for this position.
- Must like working with people and take pride in your work! This job will be interacting with our residents on a daily basis and customer service is something we take pride in.
- Required to maintain reliable transportation and communication (mobile phone) for business purposes.
- Basic computer skills, including email. Experience with property software (Appfolio, Yardi, etc) is a plus!
- Ability to communicate with coworkers and residents in English and Spanish (early beginner levels or ability to use translate app may be considered).
- Positive attitude and desire to learn and grow your career!
- Maintains a service-oriented environment by exhibiting a professional appearance and positive attitude
- Bi-lingual, advanced or fluent Spanish and English preferred.
- Strives to perform maintenance duties in the most cost-effective manner
- Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Some knowledge in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, masonry and appliance repairs and installation (dishwashers, stoves, refrigerators, etc.)
