HVAC Technician

Location: UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA -

Workdays/shifts: Weekdays – morning and afternoon/evening shifts. More details will be provided during the interview process.

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $24 per hour - $26 per hour

University students with restrictions on number of hours they can work, including international students, should apply for open student worker positions at the school they attend.

As a HVAC Technician at Sodexo, you are a problem‑solver and safety promoter. We rely on your expert knowledge and technical skills to identify repair and replacement needs. By keeping others safe, your actions have a meaningful impact.

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems
• Monitor HVAC systems and operations and ensure routine preventive maintenance follows established schedules and standards
• Respond to hot and cold calls, then troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Check, repair and/or replace valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functional components of the system
• Attend work and show up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

• Team-oriented, adaptable, reliable, and a nurturer of a healthy/safe working environment for all.
• 1 or more years of related work experience.
• Appropriate license/certification for the specific work in the city and state where the work will be done; minimum requirement is EPA CFC Universal Certificate.
• Working knowledge of a variety of HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, variable air, variable refrigerant flow, single/multi‑split and other commercial systems.
• May be required to have previous BMS experience if working in a commercial environment.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
