Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining, adjusting, and repairing production equipment and special purpose machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and supporting continuous operation of an industrial concrete manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, adjustment, and repair of production equipment and special purpose machines to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Test malfunctioning machinery to identify issues, determine necessary repairs, and implement approved solutions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical devices and equipment by observing operation, identifying faults, and diagnosing root causes of breakdowns.
• Dismantle equipment to remove defective parts and install replacement components, ensuring proper fit and function.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting, including work on 3-phase systems, to repair and maintain electrical components and controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, including inspections, adjustments, and scheduled servicing to reduce downtime.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to complete mechanical and structural repairs safely and efficiently.
• Use welding equipment and cutting torches to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and structures as needed.
• Maintain and repair plant structures and related equipment to support overall facility operations.
• Ensure proper lubrication and cleanliness of parts and equipment to promote longevity and optimal performance.
• Replace faulty parts and verify the proper functioning of installed electrical and mechanical components.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant standards and safety practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to confirm repair plans and ensure that maintenance activities align with operational requirements.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Essential

Skills:

• 35+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Strong mechanical or electrical maintenance experience, with the ability to work independently on complex equipment.
• Hands-on experience with 3-phase electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices and scheduling to minimize equipment downtime.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and related mechanical systems.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including diagnosis and repair of system components.
• Ability to perform welding and use cutting torches for equipment and structural repairs.
• Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Solid understanding of maintenance repair practices for industrial machinery and plant equipment.
• Capability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

• Experience in an industrial concrete or heavy manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with maintenance of motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other material handling equipment.
• Comfort working with electrical troubleshooting in an industrial setting, including 3-phase systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment behavior to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Strong attention to detail in maintaining equipment cleanliness, lubrication, and overall condition.
