ACTS is growing! We are seeking compassionate, driven individuals to join us in making a lasting impact through meaningful work during the Fall 2026 Internship Program!
Location: The internship program will perform duties at our client service‑oriented program at a secured facility, juvenile assessment center.
What You'll be Doing?- Conduct and document a face‑to‑face interview with the referred youth including required information, accurately score and complete the Detention Risk Assessment Instrument, Suicide Risk Assessment Instrument, and Positive Achievement Change Tool (PACT) on 100% of the juveniles referred to the JAC. Initiate an immediate referral for further evaluation when necessary.
- Conduct and document an interview containing required information with the parent/guardian and/or document diligent attempts to conduct the interview.
- Conduct and document an interview with the victim/complainant, arresting law enforcement officer, Juvenile Probation Officer (JPO) and collateral sources such as school officials, employers, prior service providers and gang unit officer, as appropriate.
- Make referrals to community resources, including social, legal and educational providers.
- Attend scheduled interdisciplinary treatment team meeting or clinical supervisory sessions and discuss aspects of client's care and progress (or lack thereof); may participate in other meetings/events as assigned.
- Report crisis situations and treatment needs of clients to clinical personnel and supervisor; recognize client's comprehensive needs and discuss with interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in social work, counseling, psychology or other human services field and working under a formal learning contract or similar agreement with a university.
- Eligibility status, as determined by Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 435 and/or Local Law.
