Job Description
As a Norwegian Linguist, you will play a critical role in driving success and innovation. Our work depends on a Norwegian Linguist joining our team to serve as a natively fluent language specialist with a Norwegian background to support a social media program in Tampa, FL. The preferred candidate will have native fluency in reading and writing Norwegian, with a thorough understanding of the region.
Howa Norwegian Linguist will make an impact
- Develops and maintains expertise with designated regional issues and draws upon publicly available online information resources.
- Reads, analyzes, and drafts communications regarding regional and ideological discussions in specified foreign language media environments.
- Examines current media statements or postings to support trend analysis and identifies key communicators.
- Demonstrates reading and writing expertise in Norwegian and incorporates custom social media solutions to comprehend online environments and communicate trends effectively.
- Supports operations planning and demonstrates knowledge of online social media and different technologies.
- Documents activities, notes, informative papers, or whitepapers written in English.
- May require the ability to work nonstandard hours and be on-call for periods of time.
- Some travel may be required.
Education: Bachelor's Degree required; experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Experience: 0-3 years of related experience required.
Security Clearance Level: Minimum DoW Secret clearance required; select positions require TS/SCI.
Skills and Abilities:
- Native fluency in Norwegian, with a thorough understanding of the region.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret regional and ideological discussions.
- Expertise in online social media platforms and technologies.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
- Ability to document findings and produce informative papers or whitepapers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic operational environment.
Additional Requirements: Select candidates will be language-tested.
