Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. As a Family Support Worker in the Florida Case Management Organization (CMO) department, you will provide transportation of youth to/from out‑of‑home care placements, to/from school, and to/from visits. Family Support Workers also supervise parent visits.
A typical day as a Family Support Worker will include managing crisis, de‑escalating youth and adults, and driving. As a Family Support Worker, a large amount of time is spent face to face with high‑need teenagers transporting them. Work hours vary based on shift and client demand, and an on‑call schedule for nights and weekends is required.

- High School diploma/GED required; A.A. preferred
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience (human services or childcare experience preferred)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must have reliable vehicle/transportation
- Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience and a clean driving record
- Must meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department
- All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test and an extensive background check
