What will you do:

As the Family Navigator Supervisor, you will provide a pathway to enhance family well-being for families involved in the child welfare system by ensuring that Family Navigators have the tools, resources, and support to promote safe and stable families.

This is a highly responsible mid-management clinical position which administers the delivery of the Family Navigation Model and oversight of the family navigators. This position requires a working knowledge of state and federal laws, administrative rules and regulations pertaining to the mission of behavioral health, substance abuse and mental health, domestic violence components and child protective programs, as well as personnel rules and regulations.

This is professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, along with planning and directing their work.

How you will make an impact:

* Provide direct operational and clinical supervision to Navigators in the performance of all aspects of their duties.

* Ensure that families have the access, engagement, and coordination of services necessary to move forward on their goals and successfully achieve objectives designed to increase safe, independent functioning.

* Identify service needs, coordinating service intervention, and collaboration with system of care partners including the child protective investigator, child welfare case manager, and other subject matter experts who become engaged in assessment and treatment identification.

* Use the family navigator model to deploy strategies designed to rapidly engage families in services, work closely with families and providers, and the reinforcement of delivery of quality services.

* Actively establish relationships with Child Protective Investigations, Case Management and provider staff and support these workers in understanding the effects of active engagement and accurate identification and activation of service needs on behavioral change and family well-being and stability.

* Assist in resolving systemic barriers encountered by Navigators in their work with families and system partners.

* Work with other Department leadership as well as programs to integrate the services of Office of Child and Family Well-Being, the Office of Quality Assurance, Substance Abuse and Mental

* Health, and Economic Self-Sufficiency to ensure inter-agency collaboration with stakeholders in child and adult protection and domestic violence systems.

* Carry out administrative duties such as timesheet approval, performance evaluations and programmatic data monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications:

* Master's degree in behavioral health, social work, or related field

* 5+ years' experience in Child Welfare or Behavioral Health field (or both collectively).

Preferred Qualifications:

* 2+ years' management experience.

* Current or past Child Welfare Certification

* Licensed clinician (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) or similar licensure.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches

* Ability to motivate, and direct people as they work by identifying the best people for the job.

* Knowledge of information gathering, knowing how to find information, and identifying essential information.

* Problem Identification:
Identifying the nature of problems.

* Systems Evaluation:
Looking at many indicators of system performance

* Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.

* Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.

* Knowledge of policies and practices involved in personnel/human resource functions

* Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media

* Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

* Knowledge of human behavior and performance, mental processes, psychological research methods, and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
