Service AdvisorJob Description
The Service Advisor coordinates heavy diesel vehicle services and repairs, handles customer performance issues, drafts cost estimates, and manages all service paperwork. The role is exempt and eligible for commission.
Performance Objectives- Greet the customer and gather information to determine needed service.
- Review and verify vehicle warranty protections and service contract coverage when developing cost estimates, work orders, and related paperwork.
- Leverage technology and product knowledge to address customer needs and share status of service appointments.
- Schedule appointments for service technicians.
- Resolve customer complaints and make follow‑up calls to facilitate a positive service center experience.
- Lead vehicle pick‑up efforts by coordinating with vehicle service porters and customers.
- Manage all service paperwork, including repair orders, invoices, and maintenance records.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish.
- Advanced knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Experience maintaining a positive attitude while working in a team environment with competing priorities.
- Strong computer skills; highly proficient in MS Office Suite, Windows, Google Suite.
- Ability to think critically, especially when assessing materials that help the team understand new concepts and procedures.
- Outstanding organization and administrative accountability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence.
- Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required trainings.
- GED or High School Diploma preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of vehicle service writing/advising experience preferred.
- Current driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- Experience working with team members across multiple functional roles preferred.
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking.
- Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, automotive shop environment, and cold or heat.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
