Overview
We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer to support the growth and stability of enterprise applications by designing, building, and enhancing scalable backend services and data models. This role focuses on ensuring high data quality, system reliability, and long-term platform maintainability.
The Senior PHP Developer will apply strong engineering principles and architectural thinking to translate complex business and data requirements into durable technical solutions, while driving continuous improvement in performance, extensibility, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and data models for a Pimcore-based MDM platform
- Build and optimize PHP applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and data integrity
- Design and implement REST/JSON APIs to support downstream systems and automation workflows
- Work with complex data structures, entity relationships, and lifecycle management
- Contribute to platform architecture, technical design decisions, and coding standards
- Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and enforce best engineering practices
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in ongoing platform optimization and enhancements
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate
- 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in PHP and frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
- Experience with Pimcore or similar content/data management platforms
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Maria
DB) - Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of web security best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and performance-tuning skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Experience with Kafka, Open Search, or graph databases
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern Dev Ops workflows
- Experience contributing to solution architecture and platform modernization initiatives
