Big Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy solutions in Big Data, Hive, UNIX, Spark SQL, and Hadoop.
• Apply internal standards for re-use, architecture, testing, and best practices.
• Oversee the full software development life cycle.
• Deliver high‑quality code on time with a low rate of production defects.
• Research and recommend technologies to improve current systems.
• Communicate status and risk to stakeholders and escalates issues as appropriate.

• Knowledge of big‑data tools such as Spark and HiveQL is desirable.
• Ability to use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem‑solving techniques.
• Analytical, flexible, and team‑oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible and able to manage time effectively.
• Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal supervision and pay attention to high‑priority details.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting at all levels.
• Efficiently and effectively manage work, time, and resources.
• Strong problem‑solving and program execution skills with a process‑oriented mindset.
• Self‑motivated and delivery‑focused.
