Transit Bus Driver

• Locations 4202 E Fowler Ave, Tampa, FL, 33620, US

USF Transit Bus driver, a class B commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement, and no air brake restriction. Safely transports students, staff and visitors between USF Tampa campus and surrounding locations within a two mile radius of our campus.

• Safely transports students, staff and visitors within a two mile radius of the campus.
• Utilizes the 2‑way radio and Mobile Data Terminal (MDT).
• Operates ADA equipment, including tie‑downs and audio‑visual announcement system (AVAS).
• Accurately records ridership counts using the MDT.
• Pre‑trip bus tasks: removes and turns in lost/left items, sweeps interior, removes trash.
• Provides route and other necessary information to passengers.
• Completes personal departmental paperwork in compliance with department standards, including When to Work, Sign‑in/Sign‑Out log, Oracle leave record and Web Clock punch in/out.

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency; possession of a current Florida CDL class B driver’s license with passenger endorsement and an active Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT physical).
• Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of experience driving buses or one year of experience with Bull Runner, and experience in a university setting.
