Position Summary
Reporting to the Flight Operations Manager, the Flight Operations Specialist – Pilot Scheduler supports the planning and coordination of pilot scheduling activities across assigned ISR Files. The role ensures operations are appropriately manned and that scheduling information remains accurate, current, and aligned with operational requirements. The Pilot Scheduler develops and manages pilot rotation schedules, coordinates pilot assignments for both deployed and non‑deployed operational needs and maintains the master operational schedule within and other operational systems.
The role also coordinates with the Travel Operations Cell and the Head of Crew Training to ensure scheduling updates, simulator training events, and personnel movements are effectively integrated into operational schedules. This role contributes to the delivery of compliant, safe, reliable, effective, efficient, and evolvable flight operations in support of Metrea's aviation programs.
- Develop and maintain aircrew rotation schedules across assigned ISR Files to ensure operational coverage and readiness
- Execute approved scheduling business rules and prepare draft schedules for Flight Operations Manager review and approval
- Ensure assigned operational programs are appropriately manned by monitoring crew distribution and identifying coverage gaps
- Coordinate crew assignments for non‑deployed aircraft operations, including testing, ferry flights, and other operational support activities
- Maintain the master operational schedule within and ensure scheduling systems reflect current personnel assignments
- Coordinate with the Travel Operations Cell regarding rotation changes, crew swaps, and schedule updates impacting travel arrangements
- Support scheduling adjustments during operational disruptions by identifying viable crew options and implementing approved changes
- Coordinate with the Head of Crew Training to schedule required simulator training events, including initial and recurrent training requirements
- Maintain visibility of upcoming training, qualification, and currency events that may impact crew availability and program manning
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling workflows and optimize scheduling processes within operational systems
- 3+ years of experience in aviation operations, crew scheduling, workforce scheduling, or operational coordination
- Proficiency in personnel scheduling and schedule management, including maintaining accurate and detailed operational schedules
- Proficiency with or similar work management platforms, including maintaining scheduling boards and operational workflows
- Strong organizational skills, prioritization discipline, and attention to detail when managing complex scheduling requirements
- Experience improving or optimizing scheduling workflows within digital work management systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating scheduling actions across operational teams
- Bachelor's degree in aviation, operations management, business administration, logistics, or a related field
- Experience supporting military aviation, ISR operations, or government contract aviation programs
- Previous experience as a crew scheduler, squadron scheduler, aviation operations coordinator, or similar role

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on‑call and available, as business needs require.
