Endurion is seeking a Freelance Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Joint Logistics Support to SOF–International (JLLS‑I) for the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) mission in support of United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

Position Summary

The Senior SME is engaged to provide expert instruction, facilitation, and mentorship for a scheduled delivery of the Joint Logistics Support to SOF–International (JLLS I) Course. This short-term instructional assignment includes limited pre-course preparation and delivery of the five-day resident course. Additional instructional opportunities may be available as future courses are scheduled.

The position supports JSOU’s international partner‑nation education program by delivering applied logistics curriculum emphasizing joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational SOF support concepts. The SME engages alongside international logisticians to share best practices, analyze case studies, and guide a capstone syndicate planning exercise.

The SME must possess extensive real‑world SOF logistics experience at the Battalion level or above, with operational exposure to SOTF, JSOTF, SOJTF, or TSOC environments. The role requires strong instructional skills, an ability to work in culturally diverse environments, and the ability to mentor partner‑nation officers with varying levels of joint logistics experience.

Duties & Responsibilities Instruction & Facilitation
  • Deliver classroom instruction for all modules of the 5‑day JLLS‑I course, including doctrinal overviews, partner‑nation comparative discussions, sustainment planning, distribution processes, and logistics C2.
  • Facilitate daily practical exercises and the final capstone syndicate planning event.
  • Lead guided discussions that encourage partner‑nation sharing of logistics frameworks, constraints, and approaches to SOF sustainment.
  • Conduct pre‑event preparation, including familiarization with JSOU lesson materials, slides, vignettes, and exercise design.
  • Adapt instruction dynamically to the logistics maturity level of the participating partner nations.
  • Provide recommended updates to course materials based on lessons learned and student feedback.
Operational Expertise Contribution
  • Present relevant, real‑world SOF logistics vignettes from SOTF, JSOTF, SOJTF, or TSOC experiences to illustrate key concepts.
  • Provide expert insight on sustainment planning, distribution networks, interoperability challenges, and coalition sustainment operations.
  • Operate professionally in an international training environment, respecting partner‑nation customs, professional norms, and organizational structures.
  • Encourage coalition interoperability and shared problem solving.
  • Support preparation of student rosters, after‑action reviews (AARs), and course assessments.
  • Provide input for partner‑nation feedback and future course refinement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Knowledge
  • SOF and Joint Logistics Doctrine: In‑depth understanding of U.S. joint logistics doctrine, SOF sustainment doctrine, and multinational logistics concepts.
  • Operational Logistics

    Experience:

    Applied knowledge of logistics functions (supply, maintenance, distribution, transportation, contracting, medical logistics, etc.) at Battalion level or higher.
  • SOF Operational Frameworks: Direct exposure to SOTF, JSOTF, SOJTF, or TSOC operations—understanding how logistics integrates into planning and command & control.
  • Coalition & Multinational Operations: Understanding of interoperability challenges, multinational logistics networks, status‑of‑forces agreements, and OCONUS sustainment considerations.
Skills
  • Instruction & Facilitation: Ability to deliver structured lessons, facilitate diverse groups, manage discussions, and guide planning exercises.
  • Cross‑Cultural Communication: Skilled in communicating technical logistics concepts to international audiences with varying English proficiency.
