As a vital part of a time‑sensitive and high‑security delivery operation, you will be responsible for the timely, safe, compliant, secure pickup, transport and delivery of critical medical items such as lab specimens, pharmaceuticals, medical records, supplies, and equipment across healthcare facilities throughout the state.

Essential Functions andKey Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver medical items (e.g., specimens, prescriptions, equipment, medical records) safely, efficiently, and punctually according to route schedules or on‑demand requests.
- Deliver packages with compassion and care.
- Handle deliveries with strict adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and other medical handling protocols.
- Maintain temperature control and chain‑of‑custody requirements for all deliveries, including temperature‑sensitive or biohazardous materials.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures.
- Follow safety procedures including cargo securement, hazmat handling (if certified), and emergency protocols.
- Operate your own insured, reliable vehicle while maintaining fuel efficiency and route optimization.
- Use mobile dispatching applications or other communication tools for real‑time tracking and updates.
- Communicate promptly, clearly, and respectfully with dispatch regarding arrival times and any delivery delays, incidents, or special instructions.
- Accurately complete delivery documentation including digital signatures, required proof of delivery (POD) images, pickup/drop‑off logs, and compliance paperwork.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor as a representative of the company, engaging with healthcare personnel.
- Handle packages with care to avoid injury or damage, using proper lifting technique and securing packages during transportation.
- Perform daily pre‑trip, post‑trip, and safety inspections, reporting any issues immediately.
- Obey all traffic laws and regulations, wearing seat belts, following speed limits, right‑of‑way rules, and traffic signals.
- Ensure on‑time pickup and delivery of cargo as scheduled, maintaining strong communication with dispatch and operations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License with a clean and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards:
- Clean driving record with no citation or conviction of more than 2 moving violations during the 24‑month period prior to application.
- No seatbelt violation in the 12 months prior to application.
- No cell phone violation in the 12 months prior to application.
- No record of DUI/DWI within the past 5 years.
Must pass a background check and a DOT drug screening.
Must possess proper auto liability insurance with minimum coverage as follows:
- $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident for bodily injury.
- $50,000 for property damage.
- HIPAA certification.
- OSHA compliance.
- DOT compliance.
