Baggage Porter Position Summary

General Facility Care LLC (GFC) is seeking dependable, customer-focused Baggage Porters to assist passengers with the safe, efficient, and professional handling of luggage at airport facilities. This position plays an important role in delivering excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

• Assist passengers with transporting baggage to and from terminal areas, curbside, baggage claim, ticket counters, and designated locations.

• Load, unload, and transport luggage using baggage carts and other approved equipment.

• Provide courteous assistance and directions to passengers when needed.

• Handle baggage carefully to prevent damage or loss.

• Maintain baggage carts and work areas in a clean and organized condition.

• Follow airport security procedures, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.

• Report damaged baggage, lost items, safety hazards, or operational issues to supervisors immediately.

• Assist passengers with mobility needs when assigned.

• Work collaboratively with airline staff, airport personnel, and supervisors.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily airport operations.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous customer service, hospitality, airport, or porter experience is a plus but not required.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds repeatedly.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors for extended periods.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Must successfully pass a background check and any required airport security clearance.

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

• Previous airport or airline experience.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

• Valid driver's license is a plus.

• Frequently lift and carry baggage weighing up to 75 lbs.

• Push and pull heavily loaded baggage carts.

• Walk several miles during a shift.

• Work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.

• Perform repetitive bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
