We are hiring a Warehouse Associate to join our team!
Job Type: Full Time
What You ll Do- Receiving
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, packing slips, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Mark materials with identifying information
- Open bales, crates, and other containers
- Verify and record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
- Drive equipment to transport items within the warehouse
- Use computer to enter records
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
- Put away and sort materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence (e.g., size, style, product code)
- Sort and store stocked goods in the warehouse
- Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards
- Packing: read schedules to determine items to be moved, verify picked product, document discrepancies, and re-pick as needed
- Confirm tickets and use computer to enter records
- Loading: consolidate freight for shipping and load trucks for delivery to customers
- Routing: facilitate and distribute shipping tickets, verify shipping method, manage delayed release tickets, and communicate oversize loads to freight carriers
- Inspect and maintain printing equipment and ensure shipping routes are maintained
- Pipe Yard: receive pipe and conduit and prepare bundles for shipping orders
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
- Three months or more related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Requirements:
- Ability to:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Perform arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and basic Internet usage
- Previous forklift/cherry picker experience
- Basic safety knowledge (e.g., proper lifting techniques)
Physical Demands: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and slide packages up to 50 lbs
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands
- Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and accuracy
- Flexibility and mobility in body movements
- Occasionally lift items greater than 50 lbs with assistance
