Job Summary
Warehouse Attendant at The University of South Florida. Receives, stores and distributes material, tools, equipment and products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
- Convey materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Place materials/goods on racks, shelves and bins or in refrigerated rooms according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
- Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves; convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Open bales, crates and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Use computer to enter records.
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Drive vehicle to transport stored items or to pick up items.
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
- Maintain personal commitment to safety for yourself and others.
- Abide by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to:
- Use a medium‑weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
- Use oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steam tables.
- Use slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
Certain positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
