Deli Clerk

The Deli Service Clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Deli Manager and/or Asst. Deli Manager for the efficient operation of the Deli Department. The Deli Clerk ensures all Kennie's customers are provided with the highest quality products and excellent customer service.

• Set up hot foods case for the day.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses for customers and serve salads from the cold deli case.
• Consistently keep the food service section well stocked with product.
• Assist in making, wrapping, and pricing pizzas and stromboli.
• Assist in making, packaging, and pricing sandwiches, subs, etc.
• Assist with making store‑made salads.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the sales area.
• Wrap lunch meats and cheeses at closing and put them in cooler.
• Tear down chip section at closing.
• Cooperate with fellow department employees and other departments during inter‑departmental or store‑wide promotions.
• Obey all safety standards.
• Perform other appropriate duties as directed by the Deli Manager, Assistant Deli Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or Store Manager.
• Uphold department quality and safety standards in the absence of the department manager or assistant manager.

• No prior experience required. Training will be provided.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• No mathematical skills required.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
