In-School Suspension (ISS) Program Facilitator

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: In-School Suspension (ISS) Program Facilitator

• High School Diploma required;
  Two-year degree preferred
• Demonstrated organizational and computer skills
• Good communication skills
• Successful experience working with at-risk students

Provide support for and ensure the safety and well‑being of students assigned to the ISS program.

• Assist with daily school site program planning and operations
• Keep statistical data, records, and evaluations on students assigned
• Maintain a disciplined and safe environment
• Communicate with students’ teachers when additional help with assignments is needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom
• Maintain positive working relationships with school staff and parents/guardians
• Assist students in writing a behavioral plan to correct inappropriate behavior
• Encourage students to remain on task
• Substitute at alternate workstations, as required
• Participate in staff development to enhance instructional and management skills
• Perform other duties as assigned
