This is a full-time on-site role for a Telecommunicator, located in Tarboro, NC. Responsibilities include receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate services, and maintaining communication with law enforcement and emergency response teams. The Telecommunicator will also operate emergency communication systems, gather critical information from callers, and document incidents with accuracy and attention to detail. The role requires the ability to stay calm and efficient in high-pressure situations to ensure public safety.
Qualifications- Proficient communication skills, including clear verbal communication and active listening
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with communication and dispatch software
- Strong organizational skills for accurately recording and documenting information
- Ability to multitask and maintain focus in high-pressure or fast-paced environments
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for effective decision-making in emergencies
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and local law enforcement practices is advantageous
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications or training in communications or public safety is a plus
