key responsibilities for this role include creating a plant master production schedule (mps), and support development of specific plant production schedules that enable the plant to achieve key customer delivery and inventory goals/targets. This role will be responsible for staffing, training and management of the production scheduling team and providing leadership of the plant’s shipping team, implementing tools and processes that improve operating efficiencies and reduce costs associated with production scheduling/execution.
This role will work closely with various customers, plant functional teams (including operations, materials management, quality, engineering, finance, eh&s, hr), the greater adti supply chain team and key stakeholders.
this role will be a key member of the plant’s leadership team.
essential duties- lead and manage production planning activities. This includes preparing, maintaining and reporting on the plant’s performance to production schedules, and converting the marketing and sales forecasts in the erp/mrp system for use in the planning process.
- collaborate with supply planning manager to create and maintain a capacity requirements plan that supports the master schedule.
- collaborate with the materials team to establish and adjust safety stock levels for finished goods and material inventories as needed.
- prepare run out analyses for discontinued items and coordinate an exit strategy that takes into consideration customer and business needs. This will involve working closely with manufacturing, engineering, product management, and procurement teams.
- establish and maintain a production scheduling process which results in an achievable plan that optimizes productivity, minimizes inventory, and maximizes customer service.
- coordinate with supplier scheduling, manufacturing, quality and engineering to assure that materials are on site in a timely manner to facilitate speedy and accurate parts availability to meet customer demands.
- support efforts to maintain replenishment signals within the erp system for manufactured items to assure a smooth flow of materials and while optimizing operational efficiency.
- maintenance and communication of key performance indicators that are consistent with executive strategies and plant-level performance measures. Analyze data to identify causes of issues that are impacting performance.
- participate in and prepare information needed to facilitate pre-s&op meetings.
- maintains effective working relationship and communication with all departments.
- operates within budget and contributes to the overall reduction of overhead and expenses.
this position requires a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study with at least three (3) years of materials management, planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment. Normal mechanical and analytical ability with extensive knowledge/experience with mrp/erp systems and supply chain processes is a must. In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional five (5) years of related experience.
Proficiency in microsoft suite applications (word, excel, access, and power point) as well as internet software and e-mail is required.
- experience with inventory forecasting, developing master production plans, capacity requirements planning, and reducing scheduling variances preferred.
- broader materials/supply chain management (people and processes) experience is preferred.
- apics certification in cpim, cscp or cltd would be beneficial.
- may be required to travel 10% of the time.
