Description

Air Systems Components (ASC), a business segment of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Tarboro, NC manufacturing facility. ASC manufactures high-quality air distribution products used in commercial and industrial applications.

This facility operates as a Tier 2 production plant (101-500 employees) currently undergoing a turnaround, focused on improving operational performance, strengthening frontline leadership, and upskilling talent across the organization. The Production Supervisor is a hands‑on, floor-focused leader responsible for driving shift execution across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while developing team capability and reinforcing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and supervise hourly production employees (20–40 associates) across multiple lines or work cells
  • Own daily shift execution, including staffing alignment, schedule attainment, and shift readiness
  • Drive performance using KPIs such as output, scrap, First Pass Yield, downtime, attendance, and takt adherence
  • Serve as a change agent in a turnaround environment, reinforcing standard work, accountability, and urgency
  • Execute real-time problem solving, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for production, quality, or equipment issues
  • Coach, train, and actively upskill team members, building capability and developing future leads
  • Drive quality at the source, ensuring operators own quality within the production process
  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, including safety talks, audits, and immediate response to issues
  • Ensure accurate ERP/MRP transactions, including labor reporting, production confirmations, and inventory movements
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Inventory, and Shipping to support OTIF performance
  • Support Lean initiatives such as 5S, waste reduction, and flow improvements
  • Conduct effective shift communication and handoffs to ensure continuity across operations
What We’re Looking For:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–7 years of manufacturing experience, including 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role
  • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment (fabrication, assembly, or industrial production)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a performance‑driven or turnaround environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and standard work
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and shop floor transactions
Preferred:
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt or higher)
  • Experience leading mid‑sized teams (20–40 employees) in a Tier 2 facility
  • Familiarity with OEE metrics, MES systems, or real‑time production dashboards
  • Proven success improving safety, quality, and productivity metrics

This role operates primarily on the manufacturing floor with frequent standing, walking, and interaction with production equipment. The environment includes exposure to moving machinery, material handling equipment, and elevated noise levels, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
