Position

Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) and quality performance for the Tarboro manufacturing facility. This role will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to drive product quality, process improvements, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager will lead quality personnel, oversee ISO compliance activities, manage customer and supplier quality concerns, and champion a culture of quality throughout the organization.

What

You'll Do
  • Lead and direct all quality-related activities for the Tarboro facility, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Serve as the site quality leader and primary escalation point for customer quality concerns, warranty trends, and corrective actions.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action efforts utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Six Sigma tools.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, improve first-pass yield, and support plant continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee internal quality systems and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards, including audits, corrective actions, management reviews, and certification activities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key quality performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting for plant leadership.
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and support product launches, engineering changes, and process validations.
  • Manage supplier quality performance, including supplier corrective actions, qualification activities, incoming quality standards, and supplier development initiatives.
  • Ensure effective calibration and control of inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, control plans, quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation associated with the Quality Management System.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians, and Inspectors to build organizational capability and succession strength.
  • Conduct quality training programs and promote a culture of quality awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
  • Participate in customer audits, site visits, and quality reviews while supporting strategic customer relationships.
  • Develop annual departmental budgets, staffing plans, and capital requests related to quality improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience leading quality teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001 requirements, and manufacturing quality processes.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), process capability, inspection methods, and quality engineering principles.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain organizations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality reporting tools.
