The Driver-Patient Transportation position at Freedom Hill Community Health Center is part of the Patient Transportation services offered through the Outreach and Enrollment department. The Driver will provide transportation services within any of our clinics for patients with medical and dental visits.

This position offers a 40‑hour workweek, full benefits package, 12 paid holidays, and bi‑weekly pay.

• Ensure the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients to their designated clinic by practicing appropriate safety measures and adhering to all applicable company policies and procedures, including North Carolina law.
• Contact the patient a day prior to their scheduled appointment to remind them of their appointment and verify their home address.
• Complete the Transportation Log daily to record who was transported, the mileage, and destination.
• Complete the Driver’s Daily Inspection and Condition Report to assess the safety and maintenance of the vehicle.
• Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle. Deficiencies must be addressed prior to departure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of similar experience.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Active NC Driver License with a clean driving record.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Professional and courteous demeanor at all times, obeying laws and safety regulations to ensure patient safety.
• Flexibility with schedule, including the ability to work nights and, on occasion, one Sunday per month.
• Basic computer skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, 8‑hour shift, day shift.

Constant standing and walking, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching forward and overhead. May occasionally be required to lift office equipment and paper, usually not exceeding fifty pounds of direct lift. Frequent driving work required. Must have transportation available during the workday for frequent local travel within and out of the community.

The starting pay for this position is $12.36 per hour. Actual salary varies based on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
