Job Description Summary

Advent Health Medical Group (AHMG) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our growing Surgical Services team in beautiful North Pinellas County, Florida. The APRN will work collaboratively with board-certified surgeons and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive surgical care across the continuum, including General Surgery, Bariatrics, and Colorectal Surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, physical examinations, and develop treatment plans.

  • Perform pre-operative evaluations and prepare patients for surgical procedures.

  • First assist in surgery as credentialed and permitted by hospital policies.

  • Round on hospitalized surgical patients and manage post-operative care plans.

  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging results.

  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic surgical conditions within scope of practice.

  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, surgical expectations, and recovery.

  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain adherence to evidence-based practice standards.

  • Facilitate timely communication among patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Qualification

  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGACNP, or AGNP).

  • Curren Florida APRN License

  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.

  • DEA registration or ability to obtain.

  • Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Schedule

  • Full-time position

  • 1 weekend of Hospital rounding per month

  • Hybrid role to include inpatient rounding and clinic / outpatient setting
