Vetro Social Care is recruiting Children's Support Workers for Children's Residential Services. You will be working 2:1 with other staff members and children in their Homes.

Overview
  • Title: Children's Support Worker
  • Pay: £13.68 - £28.40 inclusive of holiday pay
  • Location: Taunton
  • Time: 10:00am- 23:00pm (day shifts), 23:00pm - 10:30am (night shifts)

What you'll be doing as a Children's Support Worker
  • Support the children and young people in all day to day activities and interests
  • Promote the young persons independence and wellbeing
  • Attend weekends away, holidays and trips away with the Children
  • Attend weekend and evening activities to support the children and young people in their interests (e.g., climbing, baking cakes, weekend away in Butlins)
  • Protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support to the young people within your home
  • Ensure the safety of young people by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
  • Support, minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
What you'll need to have to be a successful Children's Support Worker
  • A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months experience of working with children or within a similar Social Care setting
  • TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
