We are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive Handyman to join a well-established hospice in Taunton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong maintenance background who takes pride in providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Working as part of the facilities team, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks across the site, ensuring the hospice remains in excellent condition. The role is customer-facing, so a professional and friendly approach is essential.

• Carrying out general maintenance and repair work across the hospice.
• Basic painting, decorating, and building repairs.
• Minor plumbing, carpentry, and maintenance tasks.
• Conducting routine inspections of the building and reporting defects.
• Ensuring all work areas are safe, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Liaising with staff, patients, and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.
• Escalating and reporting larger maintenance issues to managers and specialist contractors where required.

• Previous experience working as a Handyman, Maintenance Operative, or similar role.
• Good all-round maintenance and repair skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check is required, or willingness to obtain one.
