A Secondary Steel Erection Supervisor is required on a permanent basis to support one of the UK’s most complex and high‑profile nuclear construction programmes at Hinkley Point C.
This is a hands‑on site leadership role, ideal for an experienced supervisor who thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment and enjoys taking ownership of delivery, safety, and quality. You will be responsible for overseeing secondary steel erection activities from day‑to‑day execution through to completion and handover, working closely with interfaces across multiple disciplines.
What you’ll be responsible for- Supervising secondary steel erection works on site, ensuring safe, compliant delivery
- Coordinating labour, plant, equipment and materials to meet programme targets
- Ensuring works follow approved method statements, lift plans and procedures
- Managing subcontractors and erection crews carrying out alignment, bolting and completion works
- Monitoring progress, identifying constraints and escalating issues early
- Leading toolbox talks, briefings and promoting a strong safety culture
- Liaising with engineering, planning and other construction disciplines
- Supporting inspections, punch‑listing and handover documentation
- Providing clear daily reporting on progress, manpower and site issues
- A background in steel erection or structural installation on large construction projects
- Proven experience supervising site teams and subcontractors
- Strong knowledge of lifting operations, bolting and steel erection practices
- Confidence working within highly regulated environments
