General Construction Laborer
This role supports a variety of construction activities on a commercial job site. You will work outdoors assisting with site preparation, material handling, project support, and general labor duties while maintaining safety and quality standards. The position offers opportunities to gain hands-on experience across multiple phases of construction projects and develop a long-term career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities- Report directly to assigned job sites each day and work a typical schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Assist crews with general construction activities on commercial and municipal projects.
- Perform site preparation, material handling, loading and unloading, and general labor tasks as directed.
- Support project teams with construction activities including grading, excavation support, demolition, and site development work.
- Operate and use basic hand tools and construction equipment safely under supervision.
- Assist with measuring, layout, and preparation activities to support construction operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site through debris removal, housekeeping, and cleanup efforts.
- Work around heavy equipment and assist operators as needed while following all safety requirements.
- Follow directions from foremen and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently and according to project specifications.
- Help ensure projects remain on schedule by supporting construction crews wherever needed.
- Adhere to all company and job site safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
- Construction, labor, or outdoor work experience preferred.
- Experience working on commercial, municipal, industrial, or civil construction projects is a plus.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and basic construction equipment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to lift, carry, dig, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment and active construction operations.
- Understanding of basic construction site safety practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in site work, excavation, grading, concrete, landscaping, demolition, or general construction is preferred.
- OSHA certification or other construction safety training is a plus.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing job site needs.

Work EnvironmentThis position is 100% outdoors on an active construction site located in Taunton, MA. Standard work hours are typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role involves working around heavy equipment, uneven terrain, and active construction operations. Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding work and exposure to varying weather conditions while adhering to all safety requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taunton, MA.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
