Senior Advanced Engineering Technician Hardware Integration | Electronics Assembly Taunton, MA Pay Estimated: $32.63 - $37.63/Hour

We are hiring a Senior Advanced Engineering Technician to support a cross-functional Hardware Engineering team designing and building complex, mission-critical systems. This role supports electrical and mechanical prototype and pre-production builds, cable and wire harness fabrication, electronics assembly, chassis integration, PCB rework, soldering, and hardware development throughout the program lifecycle. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician who can interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, diagrams, and system interconnects to fabricate, assemble, integrate, test, and troubleshoot hardware.

The position requires hands-on experience with hand tools, cable and wiring assemblies, pin and socket crimp tools, military-style connectors such as D38999, and circuit board rework involving surface-mount and through-hole components.

Responsibilities:
  • Support electrical and mechanical prototype and pre-production hardware builds for complex, mission-critical systems.
  • Fabricate and assemble cables, cable harnesses, wiring, chassis, and system/sub-system hardware.
  • Perform chassis integration and assembly of electrical and mechanical system components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, electrical and mechanical designs, schematics, diagrams, interconnects, and assembly documentation.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written instructions, verbal descriptions, and defined plans to perform fabrication, assembly, testing, and checkout.
  • Use hand tools, pin and socket crimp tools, and other hardware assembly equipment to build and integrate system and sub-system components.
  • Perform circuit board rework according to engineering instructions, including replacement of surface-mount and through-hole components and white wire additions.
  • Perform precision soldering, including soldering under a microscope.
  • Work with military-style electrical connectors, including D38999 connectors.
  • Identify potential hardware integration, fabrication, and assembly issues during prototype and pre-production builds and provide feedback for improvements prior to production.
  • Support hardware development activities throughout the program lifecycle.
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire.
  • Education:

    Associate’s degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certification.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, interconnects, and technical build documentation.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical hardware fabrication, assembly, testing, and integration.
  • Experience fabricating cables, cable harnesses, wiring assemblies, and chassis hardware.
  • Ability to perform circuit board rework involving surface-mount and through-hole components and white wire additions.
  • Experience performing precision soldering using a microscope.
  • Experience using pin and socket crimp tools.
  • Familiarity with military-style connectors, including D38999 connectors.
  • Understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program.
