Certified Activities Director – EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Full-Time | Adult Day Health

DO NOT APPLY if you do not have leadership experience in a healthcare setting.

Happy Health Center is seeking astrong, experienced, certified Activities Director to lead our Adult Day Health activities department. This is a management‑level position requiring autonomy, accountability, regulatory awareness, and the ability to manage staff professionally and effectively.

We arenot seeking an assistant or entry-level activity aide. This is a leadership role.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Activities Director Certification (ADC or equivalent) – REQUIRED
  • Minimum 2+ years experience as an Activities Director or Assistant Director in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with adults 18+ with medical, physical, and cognitive needs
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Must pass CORI background check
  • Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, documentation systems)
  • Ability to work independently without constant oversight

Applications that do not clearly show certification and leadership experience will not be considered.

This position requires someone who:

  • Can confidently manage and supervise staff
  • Is comfortable addressing performance concerns and difficult staff situations
  • Maintains structure, accountability, and professionalism
  • Understands DPH regulations and documentation requirements
  • Can plan engaging programming while maintaining compliance

You must be able to take ownership of the department and operate with minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee monthly activity calendars
  • Complete required assessments and documentation timely
  • Manage department budget and ordering
  • Supervise and schedule activity staff
  • Ensure regulatory compliance

    Coordinate events and community engagement
  • Collaborate with nursing and social services teams
