Summary
Welcomes all visitors, patients, and employees into the hospital. Supports transportation needs, assists patients into and out of wheelchairs or private vehicles, provides directions to various departments, and walks visitors to their destinations. Ensures that every person who enters through the front lobby is warmly welcomed and greeted with a positive attitude and smile. Actively listens for complaints and addresses them immediately or contacts management.
Responsibilities- Assist with patient and visitor transportation needs when necessary.
- Guide patients into and out of wheelchairs and private vehicles.
- Provide directions and physically walk visitors to hospital departments.
- Offer a warm, courteous welcome to all lobby entrants.
- Listen to and resolve visitor/patient complaints promptly or refer to management.
- Perform clerical duties such as accessing computers to verify patient locations, folding brochures, and supporting marketing efforts.
- Maintain the lobby and ER waiting rooms clean and orderly; contact housekeeping when needed.
- Manage time and resources to complete assignments efficiently, maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, and foster teamwork.
- Deliver high‑quality customer service, propose creative solutions to issues, and continually improve work quality.
- Previous strong customer service background preferred.
- Positive attitude and desire to assist customers.
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly.
- Cooperative and courteous interactions with customers.
- Patient when answering questions and responding in a timely manner.
- Skillful handling of interruptions.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proactive in resolving customer concerns to satisfaction.
- Commitment to ongoing development through training, educational programs, and on‑the‑job activities.
- Participation in staff meetings, continuing education, and documentation reviews as required.
- Seeks assistance or consultation when appropriate.
- Listens for complaints and forwards information to administration for correction.
- Understanding of hospital policies, procedures, and safety issues.
- Awareness of hospital programs and their locations.
