Operations Specialist - Manufacturing and Casting
D.W. Clark casts critical components for some of the most important technologies core to the infrastructure and defense of our nation, and abroad. We are seeking a talented team member for the Operations Specialist role. The candidate applying for this position is someone who excels at balancing multiple workflows in a fast-paced environment with sound attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. They will have a strong work ethic and are motivated by producing high quality and efficient work.
D.W. Clark casts components utilizing multiple casting processes, 3D printing, and machining. As part of our team supporting production and company growth, this position will be responsible for ensuring material in process is delivered to customers and subcontractors as efficiently as possible and with the appropriate documentation.

Core Responsibilities- Coordinate shipping priorities, internal logistics, and subcontract purchase orders to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Prepare logistics and quality documentation
- Support final component marking, inspection, and packaging
- Coordinate outside and internal transportation logistics
- Execute subcontract purchase orders with outside suppliers
- Communicate status updates to customers
- Leverage information systems to optimize workflows
- Maintain accurate documentation of operational activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve operational effectiveness
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards
- Identify process friction and implement scalable solutions
- Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing
- Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and spreadsheets.
- Ability to leverage basic programming or automation logic to solve problems is highly desired
- Ability to work past standard schedule hours and occasional weekend time
- Highly organized
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Agile contributor capable of pivoting between technical analysis and hands-on shop floor support
- Proven track record in roles where small errors have large consequences (e.g., QA, logistics, or data management)
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Metal casting or foundry experience is a plus
- Physical ability to navigate a manufacturing environment (lift, climb, stand) and the flexibility to support the team during peak production windows
- Perform additional tasks and projects as needed
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, quality, and attendance
- Knowledge of quality systems and inspection
- Basic casting process, metals, and material knowledge is recommended
- Education:
College or Technical degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, or CS preferred) - Compliance: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (ITAR/Defense compliance)
