About the Company

Coaching4

Change (C4C) accelerates learning through mentoring in underserved school districts. Through our paid internship program, C4C trains talented, diverse college students to serve as College Mentors who provide academic and social-emotional support to K-12 students in urban and gateway communities, including Northern Rhode Island, Taunton, Fall River, New Bedford, and Brockton. Our model creates two powerful outcomes. High-need students get the support they need to thrive: partner districts report that with C4C, 80% of students had higher attendance, 79% demonstrated better behavior, and 83% advanced academically.

At the same time, BIPOC, first-generation, and multilingual college students gain paid work experience, leadership training, and career development, and 40% of graduating College Mentors receive job offers through their C4C internships. We pride ourselves on a friendly, fun, and inclusive culture where team members can be creative, own their work, and see their impact in the lives of students who need it most.

Summary

Coaching4

Change seeks a hands-on Philanthropy Officer to build local fundraising and manage an assigned organization-wide donor portfolio. Reporting to the CEO, this person will personally secure gifts, strengthen donor relationships, and develop simple campaigns, sponsor ships, and events.

The role owns a significant fiscal-year portfolio spanning both local and organization-wide philanthropic initiatives, contributing directly to C4C's overall philanthropic goal. The remaining first-year target will reflect confirmed funds already raised.

Minimum Requirements Local Market Development
  • Build corporate sponsor ships, individual giving, and grant support across the region, prioritizing prospects and revenue plans by community; pilot leadership councils with local business and civic leaders to open doors and support fundraising.
  • Develop simple sponsorship offers that link programs to business philanthropy priorities, and personally cultivate and solicit donors-coordinating joint asks and grant opportunities with internal teams and establishing sponsor recognition and renewal plans.
Organization-wide Giving
  • Manage individual, corporate, and foundation relationships across communities, focused on renewing and growing gifts, securing new support, and reengaging lapsed donors.
  • Coordinate foundation proposals, reports, deadlines, and renewals, preparing proposals and briefings for joint asks.
Donor Engagement and Fundraising Execution
  • Develop donor stories, campaigns, and targeted outreach, tracking prospects, meetings, and gifts through to close.
  • Plan and execute focused fundraising and cultivation events, managing budgets, sponsors, and volunteers.
  • Drive strong annual donor retention through timely acknowledgments, impact updates, and renewal conversations.
  • Own CRM records, pipeline, forecasts, and reporting; reconcile revenue with finance and confirm goals during onboarding.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a nonprofit organization; demonstrated success in a development function (creating and managing relationships with multiple donor sources).
  • Experience with advanced fundraising systems and relationship management software, specifically using Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT
  • Demonstrable track record of personally identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing individual donors, corporations, and foundations.
