MG Nurse Practitioner EX

SUMMARY:

Reporting to Chief of Emergency Medicine and working as part of the Emergency Department team, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will participate in all aspects of care, including diagnosis, treatment and disposition with a particular focus on compassionate and courteous service.

• Obtain patient histories
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission
• Perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Coordinate tests and consultations
• Implement treatment plans, including communicating with referring and consulting physicians
• Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members about treatment and medical care
• Prepare patients for discharge
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, with National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, or a master’s from an accredited Nurse Practitioner’s Program
• Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Minimum of one year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside Emergency Physicians
