SUMMARY
Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

- Documentation of initial and ongoing patient assessment in a complete, concise, and timely manner according to policy and procedure of MHMC.
- Develops and modifies an effective, comprehensive, and individualized plan of care, including discharge planning for assigned patients, using standards of care developed by MHMC.
- Applies knowledge and skills required to provide care suitable for the age of the patient served (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
- Initiates and coordinates patient teaching according to identified needs.
- Integrates, delegates, and coordinates patient care using an interdisciplinary approach.
- Delegates responsibilities for care, when applicable, and makes assignments based on caregiver skills.
- Evaluates patient responses to interventions in accordance with MHMC policy and procedure.
- Plans and supervises other patient caregivers on the unit while functioning as a professional role model.
- Exercises independent judgment in times of need and emergency situations and evaluates the outcomes of actions taken.
- Administers medication and performs treatments, using aseptic technique, to assigned patients as per MHMC policy and procedure.
- Minimum of one year of RN experience;
Meditech experience preferred. - Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Active RN license and MA RN License.
- BLS and/or ACLS certification; additional certifications required where applicable (ICU, FLOAT, S1 and M2-ACLS, Emergency Department-PALS and ACLS, PACU-ACLS, PALS, Interventional-PALS, ACLS).
- Performs analytical and decision‑making functions with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates understanding of relevant hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including safety issues.
- Awareness of programs and services provided by the hospital and their locations.
- Committed to ongoing professional development through services, formal educational programs, work groups, and on‑the‑job training.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, reviews documentation, and assists in orienting others and mentoring.
- Recognizes when assistance or consultation is needed and seeks it promptly.
Pay Range: $36.87 - $73.13
