Account Manager
Our client, a national food distributor, is looking for a Vice President (VP) of Sales to work at their operations center in Taunton, MA. Reporting directly to the President of the facility, the VP of Sales is a key executive leader responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and building a high-performance sales culture.
This inspirational leader will motivate, coach, and develop sales teams to achieve exceptional results while executing strategic sales initiatives, cultivating strong customer and supplier partnerships, and delivering sustainable, profitable growth through innovation, accountability, and outstanding customer service.
Salary range $190,000 - $225,000 commensurate with experience

Major Functional Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies that align with the company's overall sales goals and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Lead and manage the sales team, providing direction, support, and motivation to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., marketing, supply chain, finance) to ensure cohesive execution of sales strategies.
- Oversee the selection, pricing, promotion, and placement of products within specific categories.
- Utilize data analytics to monitor category performance and make informed decisions to optimize product assortment and inventory levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing accounts and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, profitability, and market share for each category.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. Gather and analyze customer feedback to understand preferences and needs, using this information to refine category strategies.
- Implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty within each product category.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years sales management experience in the food distribution industry required
. Strong sales experience with ownership of your own accounts - Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex information to make strategic decisions.
- BA degree greatly preferred
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.
- Recruit, develop, coach and mentor regional managers and outside sales reps.
- Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies that drive category growth and profitability.
