Full-Time Evening Dispatcher

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:00 PM
Position: Full-Time Evening Dispatcher

Red Line Freight Systems is looking for a dependable and organized Evening Dispatcher to join our transportation team.

This is a hands-on operations position with a strong focus on paperwork, driver check-in, shipment closeout, communication with the warehouse, and keeping our TMS accurate and up to date.

The evening dispatcher plays an important role in making sure the day's transportation activity is properly closed out and that everything is ready for the following day.

• Check drivers in as they return to the terminal in the afternoon and evening.
• Collect and review driver paperwork to make sure it is complete and accurate.
• Follow up with drivers regarding missing, incomplete, or incorrect paperwork.
• Update shipment, delivery, and driver information in our Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Close out completed pickups and deliveries in the TMS.
• Work closely with the warehouse throughout the evening regarding inbound and outbound freight.
• Coordinate freight coming back into the terminal with warehouse personnel.
• Assist with organizing and closing out the nighttime LTL trailer.
• Verify that freight scheduled for the nighttime LTL trailer has been properly accounted for and communicated to the warehouse.
• Review open shipments and identify anything that has not been completed or properly documented.
• Monitor drivers still on the road and communicate regarding their remaining pickups and deliveries.
• Respond to customer and internal emails regarding shipment status, pickup confirmations, delivery confirmations, and service issues.
• Make sure paperwork and shipment information from the day is properly entered and organized before the end of the shift.
• Communicate any outstanding issues to management, dispatch, or the next shift.
• Work in conjunction with dispatch and warehouse personnel to make sure transportation and warehouse operations stay coordinated.
• Assist with other transportation, administrative, and operational duties as needed.

This position involves a significant amount of paperwork and computer work, so attention to detail and organization are very important.

The right person needs to be comfortable handling multiple responsibilities at once while communicating with drivers, dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel.

• Transportation, trucking, LTL, logistics, or dispatch experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and paperwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable reviewing transportation paperwork and identifying missing information.
• Good computer skills and the ability to work within a Transportation Management System.
• Strong communication skills by phone and email.
• Ability to work closely with drivers and warehouse personnel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment.
• Dependable and able to consistently work the 1:00 PM–9:00 PM shift.
• Able to take ownership of issues and follow them through to completion.
