Job Description:

* Maintains accurate records of sterilization activities and inventory levels.

* Other duties as assigned.

* Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.

* Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.

* Corrects instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets, and/or instrument tracking systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Must be proficient in the English language. [Required]

* Knowledge of Sterilization Standards [Required]

* Knowledge of Surgical Instrumentation [Required]

* Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology [Required]

* Basic Computer skills [Required]

* Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology [Required]

* Ability to communicate effectively. [Required]

* Knowledge of prevention of cross-contamination and the critical nature of nosocomial infections. [Required]

* Proficient use of all equipment. [Required]

* Ability to adapt to change and work in an environment that requires flexibility and dependability. [Required]

* Ability to lead others and work under stress and tight deadlines. [Required]

Education:

* Associate [Preferred]

* High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

* Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Field of Study:

* High School Grad/Equivalent or Technical/Vocational School Required

Work Experience:

* 1+Sterile Processing experience [Required]

Additional Information:

Licenses and

Certifications:

* Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) [Required] OR

* Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) [Required]

* Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
