Position

Job Title: Apprentice Cellular Network Field Engineer

Apprenticeship Course: Level 4 Cellular Network Field Engineer

Apprenticeship Duration: 36 months

Location: Tavistock PL19 – national travel may be required.

Working Hours: Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm; weekend and out‑of‑hours work may be required depending on project needs.

Salary: £10.50 per hour

Our client is one of the UK’s leading telecommunications rigging companies. They are seeking motivated, reliable individuals to join their team as Apprentice Cellular Network Field Engineers/Riggers. As an Apprentice Cellular Network Field Engineer/Rigger, you’ll work as part of an experienced field team delivering projects across the UK. The role is hands‑on, varied, and ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team on nationwide telecoms projects
  • Assist with installation and rigging works on telecoms sites
  • Adapt to changing site conditions and last‑minute changes
  • Identify and help solve on‑site challenges
  • Maintain high standards of safety, accuracy, and workmanship
What You’ll Learn
  • Work safely at height and use fall‑arrest equipment
  • Understand telecoms rigging and antenna systems
  • Basic electrical principles, testing, and certification
  • Health & Safety, RF awareness, and first aid at height
  • Read and follow technical drawings
  • Quality assurance and environmental awareness
  • Teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
Requirements
  • Hardworking, reliable, and conscientious attitude
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly
  • Comfortable working at height
  • Willingness to work away from home when required
  • Previous hands‑on or site‑based experience is an advantage, but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Grade A*-C / 4 or higher in GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
