About The Role

Amsted Automotive Group, Cold Form & Finishing, business unit is seeking an experienced Shipping Coordinator to meet production requirements and oversee the shipping and receiving operations. This role involves managing a team of shipping coordinators, ensuring timely and accurate shipment of products, maintaining compliance, and driving a forklift. Must have SAP experience and be certified to drive a forklift.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare and process all outbound shipments, including bills of lading (BOL), packing lists, shipping labels, and commercial invoices.
  • Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and LTL/FTL using customer and freight carrier portals.
  • Verify shipment quantities, packaging requirements, and special handling instructions before release.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or transportation issues.
  • Enter and manage outbound orders in SAP, including delivery creation, goods issue posting, and transportation planning.
  • Maintain accurate SAP data related to shipments, inventory movements, and freight charges.
  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to confirm product availability and readiness for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping activities, file and store documents per company and regulatory requirements.
  • Support cycle counts by verifying outbound inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure FIFO practices are being followed on inventory storage. Also make sure all floor stock is properly labeled or identified accurately.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
  • Computer Literate – knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
  • Knowledge of IATF
    16949 quality system, customer specific packaging, shipping and label requirements.
  • Knowledge of freight classifications, LTL/FTL shipping, and transportation carriers.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF
    16949, ISO
    1001, and Q1 compliance criteria.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must have valid forklift license and be able to operate safely and efficiently.
What Else You Need To Know
  • Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise.
  • Must be able to work necessary overtime if required.
