In this role, the engineer will collect data, evaluate and update equipment designs, and lead and/or participate in projects that enhance Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE). In addition, the engineer will diagnose equipment issues using predictive tools such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time Between Repairs (MT ), conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and collaborate closely with maintenance and operations teams to improve reliability of manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

& Duties
  • Work independently or with cross-functional teams to gather data and input on the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs after having been given general instructions regarding purpose and parameters. This may include research of existing machinery, taking measurements utilizing precision measurement tools, or working with Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to determine necessary components.
  • Participate in, lead and complete manufacturing process and machinery projects of varying sizes and durations in equipment optimization and reliability.
  • Evaluate equipment and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality, reduce machine downtime, and drive cost savings.
  • Analyze OEE, MTBF, and MT  to determine frequency of breakdown and up time for daily production.
  • Solve routine up to complex problems in a way that drives improvements in OEE, uptime, and machine reliability. Lead root cause analysis, failure tracking, and corrective action implementation to improve equipment reliability.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for maintenance and operations.
  • Use data and failure trends to set priorities, schedules, and spare parts strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling and supervision activities related to the repair, maintenance and/or installation of mechanical equipment and production machinery.
  • Assist in the development of a plant preventive maintenance program.
  • Incorporate continuous improvement methodologies and practical problem solving in the creation of standard operation procedures (SOP), and visual aids for key equipment and processes.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Research and analyze new manufacturing methods or processes to improve existing operations.
  • Recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Analyze all equipment requirements and assist in the requisition of tooling and spare parts.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 1-3 years of hands‑on manufacturing experience dealing with equipment and machinery improvements (Internships will be considered as experience).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrated experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and create technical documents, engineering drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and CMMS is preferred.
