Overview

Location: Taylor, MI 48180

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (on-call up to 7 times per year)

Work Environment: In-office

What

You’ll Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Oakwood Group, you’ll play a key role in driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. You’ll lead projects, support production teams, and help turn ideas into practical solutions that improve how we work every day.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead manufacturing and process improvement projects from concept through implementation
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to enhance safety, quality, and productivity
  • Work with PLCs, vision systems, and automation technologies
  • Conduct time studies and analyze data to drive informed decision-making
  • Identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Manage priorities efficiently in a dynamic manufacturing environment
What You Bring (Qualifications)

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field or substantial experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient knowledge of PLCs, vision systems, and continuous improvement practices
  • Proven experience leading projects and applying structured problem-solving techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A customer-focused mindset with meaningful, respectful communication
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
