Paint Line Associate
Our client in Taylor is looking for Paint Line Associate workers. This position is pulling parts from the paint line and preparing for the warehouse. Must be able to lift 70 pounds repetitively and work in a non-temperature controlled environment. 2nd shift is available, $16.30 per hour, Monday-Friday with possible overtime.
Essential Functions of Job:
- Preparing parts and materials for finishing
- Setting up and performing finishing operations on components and products
- Loading and unloading parts and materials on conveyors and racks before and after processing / hanging and taking down assemblies on the paint line that go through the paint process
Inspecting finished coatings to ensure conformance to quality standards
- Recognizing typical problems in parts and equipment when they occur, stopping the process and correcting when known defects are evident
- Delivering parts and materials to appropriate location within plant
- Handling paint and waste materials according to guidelines
- Performing routine maintenance, changeover and adjustments on powder coat line, paint booth equipment and areas
- Cleaning and other general shop tasks
- Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

- Visually identify and correct deficiencies in parts produced

- Work from oral instructions, penciled layouts, blueprints, sketches, and by reference to parts
- Interact appropriately and collaborate with fellow employees and management
- Communicate effectively (written and oral) with other employees and management
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
- Work efficiently in a fast paced manufacturing environment with the flexibility to prioritize duties and multi-task at different levels
- Equipment operated as part of the essential functions: (includes but is not limited to) powder coat paint line, forklift truck, telephone, computer and related technology.
Attendance/Hours required as part of the essential functions:
- Full time, 40 hour, 5 day work week unless the company approves less than full-time employment. Overtime to accommodate production schedules may be required.
Physical requirements which are part of the essential functions:
- Standing, sitting, moving, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping hearing or equivalent, sight-visual acuity.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers including fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of a control mechanism
- Skillful, controlled manipulations of small and large objects
- Coordinating the movement of more than one limb simultaneously and bending or stooping repeatedly or continually over time.
Mental requirements which are part of the essential functions:
- The ability to; read and understand job instructions; effectively communicate and interact with others
Educational and or prior experience requirements include:
- Minimum 3 days on the job training with the Paint Area Supervisor, or the Current Paint Booth Employees if being cross trained.
- Also on-site training with the install and system integrators is acceptable at new system start up.
- Previous experience in powder coat or wet spray painting can override minimum on the job training requirements, if deemed appropriate by the Paint Area Supervisor.
