Oakwood Group is hiring a Production Supervisor to lead front-line manufacturing operations in Taylor, MI. This position is responsible for maintaining a strong presence on the production floor, reinforcing safe work practices, supporting quality performance, coaching employees, driving accountability, and helping the team achieve daily operational goals.
What You’ll DoThe Production Supervisor will lead employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and culture. The role includes employee coaching, onboarding, corrective action follow-up, KPI management, shift alignment, policy enforcement, union relations support, 5S discipline, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities Include- Promote a safe, compliant, and accountable work environment.
- Coach, train, develop, and hold team members accountable.
- Support quality standards, customer requirements, defect response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Manage production execution, labor utilization, standardized work, equipment support, and operational performance.
- Maintain 5S standards and support continuous improvement activities.
- Use KPIs and data to identify and resolve performance gaps.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, standardized work, and CBA requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-demand, unionized manufacturing environment.
- Experience using problem-solving tools such as fishbone/Ishikawa analysis, 5 Whys, containment, and corrective action follow-up.
- Strong coaching, conflict resolution, communication, and performance management skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, HRIS, Payroll, ERP, and related systems.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
