About the Unit
The Traumatic Brain Injury Unit is a 14‑bed unit that offers a full continuum of services to meet our patient’s needs. Many patients can make notable gains in cognitive, physical, and psychological skills and quality of life.
Scope of WorkThe RN, under the ANA scope of practice, uses the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures. The RN partners with patients/families, incorporates their input and goals into the plan of care, and develops teaching strategies, documenting education and learning appropriately in the health record.
Qualifications- Associate’s in Nursing (required).
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (required within 5years).
- Graduates from a non‑accredited nursing school must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of licensed health‑care role experience, and must have passed NCLEX.
- Registered Nurse (RN) (required).
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) (required upon hire).
- Specialty certification highly recommended within 2years.
- Must satisfy MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement if working on‑site or in a hybrid capacity.
