Regency, A Villa Center is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager RN to join their team! The Nurse Unit Manager RN’s primary purpose is to manage the day‑to‑day nursing activities of the facility, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times by providing nursing care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages the nursing staff, schedules breaks, reassigns employees from one area to another as facility needs dictate, writes performance reviews, and enforces policies with responsibility to issue coaching and corrective action, as needed.
  • Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, and other related departments in planning care.
  • Develops and maintains care standards.
  • Rounds frequently to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel perform their assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
  • Provides and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Ensures assigned work areas (e.g., nurse station, medication cart, medication room) and treatment areas are kept clean and sanitary.
  • Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
  • Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
  • Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, and family members.
  • Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs dictate.
  • Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the care provided and the resident’s response.
  • Documents all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, company standards and policies.
  • Completes required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Informs nursing service personnel of new admissions, expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and team development skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and delegate to others.
  • Understanding of and adherence to infection control standards, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.
Education and Experience
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
  • Possession of a current license to practice in the state as a Registered Nurse.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Long‑term care and MDS experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit extended, grasp, coordinate fine hand movements, and push/pull, with or without mechanical aids.
  • Limited exposure to environmental hazards; must understand and adhere to company safety standards and protocols.
