Alterations Specialists are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal. They report to the Store Manager, exemplify friendly, knowledgeable technical expertise, and provide superior customer service as members of the store team.

Essential Job Functions
  • Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person; communicate clearly and concisely, adapt style to suit customers, problem‑solve, and resolve conflict.
  • Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five‑star customer experience.
  • Maintain all service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting the needs, and being there for all customers, including operational checklist tasks and meeting customers’ emotional and practical needs.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at once, contributing to the store’s Five‑Star Customer Service achievement.
  • Proactively address customer concerns with confidence, know when to escalate the and partner with leadership.
  • Communicate how alterations can play an important role in perfecting the dress for the event; promote all alteration services and personalization options.
  • Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers regarding gown fit and customization.
  • Maintain store‑standards to support a flawless shopping experience.
  • Maintain a high standard of dress that complies with the Dress Code Policy.
  • Greet and escort all alterations customers to and from appointments.
  • Maintain quality control guidelines and inspect all garments altered, steamed, or pressed to verify pristine condition before final delivery.
  • Respond promptly to all customer questions by providing product and service information.
  • Build long‑term relationships with customers to meet and exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain inventory management by processing special orders, pick‑ups, and ensuring first‑quality standards for all merchandise.
  • Ensure that alteration pricing meets company standards.
  • Manage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards.
  • Resolve customer service issues swiftly and effectively in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Support all cash‑wrap behaviors and process transactions with accuracy to make every customer feel celebrated.
  • Maintain the alterations room so that it is consistently clean and well‑organized.
  • Perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally stand, walk, sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; bend, twist, and lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Use manual dexterity for POS operations, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers, and making telephone calls.
  • Perform sewing and fittings to company standards as needed.
  • See up close and at a distance, use peripheral vision and depth perception, and read and use a computer or other electronic devices for extended periods.
Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • 1–2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience preferred in bridal or special‑occasion production environment.
  • Prior experience with computerized POS system is a plus.
