Safety Worxs is seeking a Safety Lead in NE Austin, TX (Taylor, TX) to assist with a semi-conductor project.
The Construction Safety Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs across all construction projects. This role will be hands‑on field work to ensure full compliance with corporate safety policies, client requirements, and OSHA legislation. The Safety Lead serves as a key advisor to project leadership, promoting a proactive safety culture focused on risk prevention, continuous improvement, and safe work practices.
Requirements- Local to NE Austin, TX
- Minimum 10 years of managerial safety experience in construction, industrial, or related environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, construction safety regulations, and safe work practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and educate diverse field teams.
- Ability to recognize hazards, assess risk, and develop effective corrective actions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management systems (e.g., Procore Safety, Site Docs, or similar).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Physical ability to walk the worksite and multiple flights of stairs daily.
- Lead the implementation of the company’s safety management system across all active construction sites.
- Develop, monitor, and continuously improve jobsite‑specific safety plans and risk assessments.
- Provide guidance and training to site supervisors and workers on safety procedures, policies, and hazard recognition.
- Foster a culture of accountability and commitment to health and safety across all levels of the organization.
- Compliance & Auditing
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
- Document findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Maintain all required safety documentation, logs, permits, and certifications.
- Lead or assist in investigating all incidents, near misses, and property damage occurrences.
- Conduct root‑cause analyses and develop preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
- Prepare and maintain accurate incident reports and statistics for internal and regulatory use.
- Training & Communication
- Coordinate and deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training programs.
- Ensure that all employees and subcontractors understand and adhere to site safety expectations.
- Communicate new safety standards, bulletins, and best practices across the company.
- Full‑time (above 40 hours is OT pay).
